Just a thought... but since you just moved the hard disk from your P233 
to the new Athlon, could it be differences in the way each motherboard 
handles the ACPI calls?

If you have the time a clean installation on a fresh partition should 
tell you whether it's an issue with your software/hardware combo or just 
your current installation.
