[ILUG] VoIP on linux with Linphone and Asterisk

No sure if any of you guys out there dable in this sort of thing.

I've setup an Asterisk server on a PC in here. With speakers connected
to the sound card, I can get Asterisk to play the default welcome
message from the console

Launch asterisk with -vvvc for very very verbose output and a console
>From the console issue the dial command.

The playback from here is fine. However if I dial the server from
Linphone (using sip) I connect and I can see the connection being
established in logs at both ends. But the audio that comes out of the
speakers is complete garbage.

I know Linphone works as a sip soft phone as I've connected to a vega
stream VoIP server to test it. 

Any suggestions ?
