I know this will have no real meaning, my aim is more to draw peoples
attention to just how free software is developed and used. I was kind
of hoping that I might be able to show the users how people individuals
and groups from all over the EU had contributed to the system It's a
bit of a promotional gimmick, but perhaps (given the timing) it could
even get us a little press coverage. Obviously I will make it clear
that the rest of the world helps out too!
Here's the latest list (maybe tomorrow will bring an influx, without it
I think this idea is dead). Note that I am trying to come up with one
"application" for each country, which was either started there or by
someone from there. Also the application should be something
demonstrably useful to the end user, and prefeably something we would
really want to include on a liveCD even if I wasn't doing this! Of
course if people can think of some other large project/contribution from
a country I have nothing for that can't be included on the liveCD, let
me know! If it's close enough I could fill in the blanks with these
(though I would rather the system itself included everything), and
example might be LinEx for Spain (and the story behind it). First
thing listed would be my favourite contender (probably).
