You appear to be using MailDir. The idea behind this is that all
filenames are unique. To wit the above file was created at timestamp
1081206072 by PID 2310 on host mjCn. 2,S means a seen message. Delivery
is delayed until the filename is unique.
It should be perfectly safe to rsync it. #include "indemnity.h"

Yes. Of course there is the 'make backups' option.
