Can't be bothered teaching you how to read what is a very clearly
written technical paper, is more like it. Life is defintitely too
short for that. I'd say it would take me at least a month, based
on your replies so far.

This is the very reason why I do not think that linux on the
desktop is such a good idea. You are semi-technical, but are
still not willing to expend any effort to help yourself about
an issue which you're perfectly willing to expend effort to
bitch about.
This will only get worse when complete non-techies en masse
are using linux. It may be selfish, but this is going to make
my life hell wading through crud on mailing lists.
