I have a toshiba satellite "I'm so cheap toshiba don't even admit I exist"
with the ATI Mobility Radeon. I had some grief setting up XFree on Debian
stable but I pulled the XFree 4.3 packages from testing and got it working,
no 3D but my needs are simple. One very annoying problem is, when I'm
working from tty's and switch between them, at random, the screen whites out
and the only way to fix it is to either reboot or switch to an external
monitor, which must be plugged in on boot or the bios wont let you. The
problem isn't XFree or the framebuffer because it happens without either of
them installed/loaded. It also isn't just a problem with my laptop, 'cause I
know a guy with a HP lappie using the ATI Mobility Radeon display and Redhat
and his does exactly the same.
