I am trying to get a few services set up over the Wireless router I
just (excellent stuff I must say).
I want to get Apache, JBoss, smtp, pop3, ftp, and Quicktime Streaming
server running and do this with a 3Com ADSL router, and also with a
The obvious thing is to enable NAT and translate all ports to the
outside but I have been having a lot of difficulty with getting that
working. What's the best way to test out a configuration change?
If I am behind a router, I cannot see what ports are being opened on
the other side using portscan. My IP is 192.168.1.32 and the public IP
is say 126.96.36.199. When I port scan the public IP nothing comes up.
So is it necessary to use another machine outside my LAN to verify this?
And for the life of me I can't get QTSS to work right! I always get a
"Disconnected" error message. Arrrrgh!
Thanks in advance.
BTW, anyone ever tried using Virtual PC on a Mac running OS X, and
emulating Win 2k server (in Spanish)? No? Didn't think so.
