Have you try connecting locally, using the smb client ?

BTW the Oreilly Samba is open source available complete on the web.

I can pull files to the server from the client.
Can not send from Client to server,
(can see shares, from client)

Tried below on server as root.

[root at localhost root]# iptables -F
[root at localhost root]# smbclient -L localhost
Password:
session setup failed: NT_STATUS_LOGON_FAILURE
