[ILUG] "downloading" music

so i recently learned those wacky kids today are ripping streams with
programs like stationripper: http://www.ratajik.com/StationRipper/
but it makes me wonder, why not get a radio card and rip that stream?
certainly a great way to increase your bandwidth.

anyone try this?
