It's been my (not very extensive) experience that SCSI drives
usually tell you they feel ill,
and can generally be persuaded to take a few more breaths before they die,
while IDE drives are liable to instantaneously fatal heart attacks
after which they are beyond resuscitation.
Whereas my SCSI drives have always yielded their info
on being run upside-down, left overnight in the freezer,
dropped on a stone surface from a height of 7mm, etc
(as advised by various gurus).
Did anyone ever put a SATA drive in the microwave?
