Can you say when was the last time you checked your file system to see
if it is full. In my trying to imagine what way you are configured from
what you are saying /var/ is full if it is on a separate partition or
the logs are huge and are taking along time to be written to.
If this is not the case please come back to the list with some other
clues of what processes are running etc. If it is this I wonder are your
logs rotating.
