A modem definitely will NOT work. You need an FXO (terminates POTS line as a
modem would )/FXS (provides line signal for connecting analogue phones)
card. An example is the Digium wildcard X100P, there are also cheap clones
available - try ebay with "X100P".

Is there a relatively cheap card that is compatible with this, is
