I run screen in pretty much all of my xterms (or aterms as it happens)
on my workstation. Means that its simple for me to log into my machine
from somewhere else on campus, or over dialup from home and check
the state of whatever I was doing in that terminal.

I'm at a stage where I know that, say, the left aterm on desktop 2
(which I always use to log into redbrick, and recieve messages)
will always be running screen on /dev/ttyp5, so I have an alias at
home which does:

ssh -t <work-server> ssh -t <desktop> screen -x ttyp5

and *badda* *bing* there she blows...

handy... :)
