Personally I just used gnome-cups-manager to add my printer and then
inside in OpenOffice I just pressed "print", and ta-da. Similiarly on my
redhat box I used their printconf-gui with the same "nothing to do in
OOO" process after I setup. Though from "print" you'll clearly have to
select the printer to you if you have more than one setup.
There is a OOo oopadmin program to setup the printer for OOo itself, but
it shouldn't be necessary to go near it methinks.
