Ok, I've made a backup of my .bashrc file in /root and coppied a .bashrc
from my account.  Still the same result so I looked at the /etc/profile
file.

Sorry about this, but I'm going to have to include it as an attachment.  the
screen reader in Windows cant understand it so I cant extract the lines with
the path.

While reading it in linux I noticed something like
PATH=3D:$PATH

This is frustrating, two steps forward and one step back.  After spending
nearly eight hours on the access bridge I really hope I don't have to
reinstall.
