[ILUG] I'm new to linux, is it ok, To ask Daft Q?, every so often?

I'n the home net trying to use Fedora as a file server,
using ICS on the XP Pro box for updates etc.

Until such time as I feel confident, to use a 2nd Linux box as the I.C.S. 
machine

Then use that knowledge to help do similar for a Social Economy Programme , 
I've got involved with.

Make any sense to anyone?
