The nas0 interface comes up and has RX & TX bytes.  the route is not added,
but I think that's because the pppd isn't connecting.

There are errors in /var/log/ppp-connect-errors 

pppoe: read (asyncReadFromPPP): Session 44923: Input/output error

but this seems from googling to be a minor issue with disconnecting which
shouldn't cause a problem.

Does anyone know what might be wrong?
