  | Does anybody know of a script that can send out SMS's via
  | the command line, using any of the Irish mobile networks?
  | Or has anybody ideas on how this could be achieved?

sms_client: I used version 2.0.8y quite successfully in Ireland
 with, AFAICR, all the networks.

``SMS Client is a UNIX command line based utility which allows you
to send SMS messages to mobile phones and pagers. This software
has been written and tested on Linux however a number of users
have reported success running it under both AIX and Solaris.
SMS Client currently supports a wide variety of services providers
   and protocols.''

cheers!
