Well, for 2.6, external modules should be looking to:
Indeed, you should, in theory, be able to symlink /usr/src/linux to
the above directory, for modules which look to /usr/src/linux, and
have it work.
In theory, cause last time i tried this, to build hostap drivers,
there were a few problems with the kernel build system expecting to
be able to write to the build dir. however that was a while ago,
hopefully it's fixed. However, you still shouldnt need the
kernel-sourcecode rpm though, just make /lib/modules/`uname -r`/build
world writeable while you build your rpm (chmod -R a+r ..) (cause
building software as root is *bad*, very bad.).
