That's a really nice idea. Shell scripting, combined with command-line
manipulation tools for images, email, etc. can give you a lot of the
same functionality but it does require a certain level of skill and lots
of wheels get reinvented, I'm sure. 

I hope it allows new actions to be created with scripts.
