Yes agreed. When I was looking around there were combo offerings from 
Epsom, Lexmark and HP all around the same price and similar spec. I 
plumped for the lexmark as consumables seemed slightly cheaper and 
footprint slightly smaller . As my requirements are for home use there 
aint a high volume of use.

Yes will try that. I *think* that Lexmark uses Canon printing engines 
for at least some of its printers
