Hi -

I’m contacting you because you are listed as being the main contact
person for the Irish LUG on the linux.org website.

I’m trying to spread the word about a new website my company has
launched for the purpose of promoting support services for Open
Source software to businesses. The website, located at
http://www.findopensourcesupport.com, allows visitors to search for
individuals and businesses around the world that provide consulting
services and contract support for various Open Source software
packages. Visitors can search for support options based on criteria
such as cost, geographic location, support features, etc.

Individuals who offer freelance consulting services for Open Source
software can list their services on the site free of charge, so some of
your LUG members may be interested in participating. I am a strong
advocate of Open Source software and believe that promoting
consulting services and commercial support options benefits everyone
involved.

After realizing there was a widespread need for Open Source support
options, I formed Ayamon, LLC in the fall of last year and began work
on the findopensourcesupport.com website. As the lead developer of
Nagios (www.nagios.org), an Open Source network monitoring
application used by thousands of organizations worldwide, I
understand the importance of available commercial support options for
Open Source software. It is my hope that the
findopensourcesupport.com website will help to accelerate the
acceptance of Open Source software in businesses and organizations
around the world by dispelling the myth of lack of support.

Feel free to pass this information along to LUG members and others
as you see fit. If you have any questions or would like more
information, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Thanks and take care.

Ayamon, LLC
