Hi Guys,
I'm currently looking for a new assistant to help with day-to-day IT
tasks in a small (but rapidly growing) office network.
The person will ideally be keen and interested in learning all aspects
of computer networks and will be knowledgeable in Linux, Windows and
wee bit of BSD (OpenBSD and FreeBSD) (or at least willing to learn). No
qualifications are Necessary, we just want to know you can do it... and
we will train you up. :-)
This job is like no other. There are 80 users in this office and the
person will also be liasing with our other IT guys in Antigua,
Gibraltar, Costa Rica, Vancouver, Atlanta (US), and London. You will
also be part of testing computer networks running on different operating
systems, monitoring and policing networks, offering support to internal
staff (and the occasional customer). You will be maintaining intranet
sites (with medium sized databases), keeping tabs on every technical
change on every PC (ie, stopped a program from running at startup to
installed a service pack on a windows machine). There will be
maintenance in the comms room required such as cleaning (no one who's
not IT is allowed in there), making sure the temperature in the room,
cabinets and machines is perfect, no cables laying about... etc.
You will also be maintaining several mail servers, making sure they're
secure, no open relays, windows domain servers, file servers, dhcp
servers, DNS servers, timeclock servers, web servers, FTP servers etc...
There are tons of other things to do as well (email me for more
details).
There is PILES of room for promotion!
The building in Dublin where you will be working has wheelchair
provisions (if necessary) and we are an equal opportunities employer.
The position is full time and open to one eager person who is willing to
learn and is flexible (not ballerina flexible but flexible enough to be
able to come in at short notice if there is an emergency).
If you think you would like the job please send me an email at
