you can config automount to use fs's other then nfs iirc. so you could
have it using lufs or sshfs or sfs or whatever. just because sun lacked
imagination with their outomounter doesn't mean the free unicies had to
stick to such silly limitations!
sanity is a policy - it shouldn't be defined by the kernel or low level
utils.
