Perhaps the SHOULD be - I don't know does the relevant RFC call for that. And
certainly, in the Amavis examples, there IS a blank line there. But I'm a long
time using telnet to debug mail problems, and I've never put a blank line in
there, and it has never caused a problem.

And TBH I don't think it caused a problem there as I got a 250.

So, I still don't know why that BOUNCE didn't actually result in a bounce, but
I suspect it's because I was talking to amavis directly 10024 and it itself
won't bounce mail. Certainly now that I have amavis configured to at least a
first approximation, I am getting bounces when I inject an email into postfix
directly on 25 which is what matters.
