[ILUG] OT: folks who've had trouble getting online in Ireland

You're right - there is no external modem required. I actually tried to 
get this over the aerial as I live in rented accommodation, but it 
wasn't available in my area at the time.

Before I signed up with Irish Broadband I went looking for peoples 
opinions and found lots on boards.ie (but a disclaimer - people love to 
complain and hate to praise - take it all with a grain of salt). 

As for the aerial - it's not too much hastle. They have a mounting kit 
for chimneys that requires no drilling, run the cable down the 
extoerior walls and drill on small hole to bring it into the house. 
Since I got it last March/April I have had no service outages and no 
problems of any other kind.
