As do I, and for exactly the same reasons. Except I suppose that I don't
regard, say, buying a Linux distribution as paying for software - I'm paying
for the service of having that software delivered to me. And of course when
you buy proprietary software you're not buying software either - you're paying
for the same service as mentioned, and you're paying for the right to use the
software.

Not at all intended as any kind of a slur. I should have said

prohibit using proprietary software

rather than

prohibit paying for software


I know that some peoples views on this matter are very strong, hence I use the
word religious. I respect their views - after all, unlike religions involving
Gods, very few people get killed by this religion.
