Hello,
In my quest to get serial ATA working on linux with soft RAID, i went for
a sil controller which seems to work okay. It loads up happily but then
every 3/4 days, one of the disks from md0 gets kicked out for no reason :
md: created md0
md: bind<sda2>
md: bind<sdb2>
md: running: <sdb2><sda2>
md: kicking non-fresh sda2 from array!
md: unbind<sda2>
md: export_rdev(sda2)
raid1: raid set md0 active with 1 out of 2 mirrors
The other always work fine :
md: created md1
md: bind<sda3>
md: bind<sdb3>
md: running: <sdb3><sda3>
raid1: raid set md1 active with 2 out of 2 mirrors
I'm confused about this, having used soft raid on uata 133 drives before
without problems. I've tried to re-add the device by doing :
raidhotadd /dev/md0 /dev/sda2
This works, and then a couple of days later, it kicks out again. When it
dies, i get a lot of SCSI errors as if the drive would be dying or
something, then add the partition again and it works for a while.
Any help welcome.
Steph
