I noticed the Fedora Core 2 test 1 boot CD
has a memtest86 test option. Adding in
badblocks and http://packages.debian.org/unstable/misc/cpuburn.html
for e.g. wouldn't be a bad idea at all.

cd - go to previous directory
cd go to home directory
pushd `pwd` put current dir on stack so you can popd back to it
(cd dir && cmd) go to dir, execute cmd and return automatically
