[ILUG] Fedora Core: No Incoming smtp mail!!!

Hi.
as above.

Just installed F C 1.0 - clean install (necessary as Ximian Gnome fck'd
my Gnome setup).,

All is now fine except I do not receive any incoming mail.
Outgoing mail works fine -as you see!

As I cannot receive incoming mail:

I have (temporarily) even tutned firewalling off - no good.

When I telnet to  my machine:

>telnet jkcray.maths.ul.ie 25
Trying 136.201.6.138...
telnet: connect to address 136.201.6.138: Connection refused

So I don't think it is a firewall problem. I remember a similar problem
when I upgraded to RH8 a year or so ago..

I have checked log-files to look for diagnostics - no joy.

I would be most grateful for any tips.
