Xen is a virtual machine monitor for x86 that supports execution of
multiple guest operating systems with unprecedented levels of performance
and resource isolation. Xen is Open Source software, released under the
terms of the GNU General Public License. We have a fully functional ports
of Linux 2.4 and 2.6 running over Xen, and regularly use it for running
demanding applications like MySQL, Apache and PostgreSQL. Any Linux
distribution (RedHat, SuSE, Debian, Mandrake) should run unmodified over
 the ported OS.

Wow, this is really cool -- seriously fast VMs, like 95-99% of host
processor speed! Anyone playing with this, or thinking about doing so?

(my favourite potential VM use -- it'd make a kick-ass server platform.
linux kernel crash? log into the ring 0 XenLinux, and restart that VM.
haxx0red? log into ring 0, kill the VM, and just cp the backup "disk" over
the rooted copy and restart it. need to partition different servers for
security? create a VM for each one. etc.)
