Actually, it doesn't have a parallel port.
It does have a USB port,
but I'm not sure how I could use that to link it to my desktop?

More to the point, I could use a PCMCIA ethernet card,
but that wouldn't really be different in principle to WiFi,
and would mean I would have to climb the stairs.
