Then those people should set Reply-To: <list>

No it isnt.

To set your headers correctly, ie that means setting Reply-To: <list> 
if that is what you want.

No, how about the mutt people go and get these non-standard headers 
RFC tracked? Oh wait, they did try, but very similar headers 
*already* are in use for UseNet. And how about getting mutt to *not* 
assume things about lack of its non-standard headers.

1. namely the ability to consider list-replies to mails lacking 
mutt's magic headers as requiring reply to both list and original 
sender.
