Be careful. Check your bios. I did my first Gentoo intstall ever on
Friday night. And I had a distinct lack of CDRs at the time. Some BIOS
versions don't support the gentoo live CD format. My laptop was fine
with it, but the desktop wouldn't even consider it. In the end I had to
boot off another rescue CD, install Smart Boot Manager
[http://linux.simple.be/tools/sbm] and dick about with various other
things. First time in quite a while that I wished I had a floppy drive.
