For reasons mainly related to spam protection, I no longer use backup 
MX servers. My MX servers are hosted by Rackspace, which doesn't lose 
power, and which guarantees to replace hardware in an hour (of course 
that guarantee isn't worth a crap, but hey  . . . bottom line, the 
ensemble is a tad more reliable than a box in a Dublin suburb off DSL 
:-) )
