They wont care about office stuff. They want the PC for games right?
So go and install Cedega http://www.transgaming.com
and you can doom3 all you like.

You _cannot_ play games with vmware or any other OS emulator. At least not
_REAL_ games. Mickey mouse games will work of course, but your kids will
hate you for it.

I slagged off tuxracer in the past, but my two kids are addicted, well the
weeboy is, takes after his oul man I suppose ;-0
