Those "spam fighting" measures are severely flawed.
Why should I have to put up with oodles of spam from the ILUG list due to
its open policy?
If people are using "spam fighting" as an excuse for allowing any address to
post then logically they should keep the list closed to subscribers only.

But I don't get ANY spam on any other mailing list I am subscribed to. Not
one. Ever.

No it isn't. If the list maintainers allow people who are not subscribed to
post then they are in effect forcing the outcome of their decision on the
rest of us.
