You don't get "oodles". Less than 10 spam messages per month get
through the spam filters on dagda (a further 100-200 messages per day
are trapped before broadcast), which is not onerous by *anyone's*
count. It's certainly a price I'm willing to pay to keep the barrier
to entry to the list as low as possible.
Remember that first-time posters to the list are likely to be people
new to Linux, or people considering Linux as an alternative to their
current setup. I don't want any unnecessary crap getting between these
people and the help and encouragement we want to give them.

So what? You get a minuscule amount through ILUG, which probably takes
less than a minute per month to evaluate and discard. This is not a
big deal, and I really don't think there's any point in arguing that
it's vital for your sanity.
