By all installed smoothly you mean you followed all the steps at the 
justiceforall page "How to Use" section and got no errors?

By no effect do you mean the error messages from xawtv are the same?

Presumably your lsmod is different if nothing else!

What does "ls -l /dev/video*" give you?   Basically did you see what 
Ruari said?   It looks like the usb2 driver from justiceforall should 
create /dev/video0, but you already had bttv drivers and lots of other 
related things in there (sorry but not sure if any of them would have 
created a device), have you removed everything you've already tried and 
then put in just what you think you need now?

Any errors in dmesg or any sign of the video device?   You need to find 
the video device (as if you didn't know).   If you can find it, can you 
do anything with the video device (even just pipe from it to a file)?

I don't know the answer, but perhaps this could give you a clue or the 
answers might help someone figure it out?
