Do you really need to run ssh? I don't on my desktop so I turn it off.
You can turn it off using the "Services" program in
"Applications->System Tools" under Gnome. As I recall you run Fedora.
If it does not have a "Services" program you should look for a program
whose name suggests that it can modify your computers' "init" or initial
services.
Using "Services" I scroll down until I see an entry for "sshd - The
OpenSSH SSH server" and simply uncheck the box beside it, then click
"Apply".
