Not really. Buy a Atheros based (a/b/g) MiniPCI card of
http://www.staros.com  $59, which is perfectly Linux compatible, with
native drivers (backup plan http://www.wisp-router.com, where you also
can get a 802.11b 200mW Prism based MiniPCI) and you should have all the
wireless you need. No need to drag around a USB thingy.
