[ILUG] On the topic of RAID

I recently built an ext3 Linux software RAID array out of two shiny new
disks and PCI IDE card.

When I cat /proc/mdstat it says all is good, life is good.

If I'm lazy and don't properly shutdown the raid box, but instead just
nuke it via power switch, when I boot the box again and check out
/proc/mdstat I notice that the *entire* 80 gb is resynching.

Is this normal ? I suspect not.

/etc/raidtab is essentially line for line how, the howto in
/usr/share/doc aka the Linux Software raid howto told me to do it, but,
my spider senses tell me that it's not totally normal to have to resync
the entire array after a random power failure.

Is this correct?
