Dear Mr. Foster,

We, the undersigned punctuation, would appreciate it if you'd pay us a
bit more attention.  Yes, the period is a marvelous tool, but we're
worried you're overworking him.  Lately at our Friday evening pub
sessions he's seemed a bit rundown.

Surely a few commas or semi-colons might come in handy on occassion?
Maybe even a dash or two!

Plus the Word Gang are beginning to make noises.  And you know how
they're so much bigger than us.  "However" and "unfortunately" have been
making some menacing stares at Mr. Period.  We're becoming concerned.

So please, give us some consideration.  We can do just as good a job as
Mr. Period if you'll just give us a chance!
