[ILUG] New system - final preparations before deployment.

Hi all,

Well last night I got a new disk for the proliant (we were throwing a 6500
in the recycling yesterday and I rescued some parts and donated others)

Anyway, now I have 2x9GB and 2x18GB disks.
So I decided I would nuke the install (I only transferred the data and had
not yet configured anything so this was the quickest solution)

I created 4 RAID volumes as follows:

1. /dev/md0 (100MB for /boot ext3 - RAID1)
2. /dev/md1 (18GB LVM2 - RAID1)
3. /dev/md2 (18GB LVM2 - RAID0)

I decided on raid0 for SWAP, /tmp & finally /squid-cache, as all the data
therein is discardable. So RAID0 gives the best disk usage and is fast.

The RAID level 1 volumes, LVM based, contain /, /var & /home.
So I am now happy with this, I am protected by two mirrored volumes, with
the option for expansion when the volumes eventually fill up via LVM2.

What I would like to do with this system is host multiple domains
(conorwynne.com & two new ones which I have not yet decided on the names
of)
Can I do this with a single IPaddress on my router?
Obviously I can from a DNS standpoint, I simply register multiple domains
for the same IP. Reverse lookups might be confused but that should not
matter I dont think? Opinions?

But the issue as I see it is how to configure apache so that when someone
goes www.foo.com or www.bar.org that it goes to a different webpage. I
believe this is possible with the virtual hosts options in httpd.conf? Is
that correct?

What about MX records? Will they be fine if I setup multiple domains? I
plan on setting up mailman for a specific purpose (fish, turtles &
amphibian keeping, and another for motocrossing in Ireland)

Anyone see an issue with this config?
