My ears perk up, when I hear PERC, because I maintain a knowledgebase
page about use of this diverse host adapter family on Linux:  "PERC" 
on http://linuxmafia.com/kb/Hardware/ .  Corrections / revisions are
always welcome.  (It probably tells Richard nothing he doesn't 
already know, in this case.)

linux-scsi at vger.kernel.org mailing list might also be useful.
