what do you mean by reliably?

It's a storage device. If you want to add music, you have to use an app
which has reverse engineered the itunes music db. But it works.

The flash players seem to be usb-storage, so they work.

Dunno about the rest. But iRiver seemingly were nice, though they've
stopped supporting ogg now.
