I always find the gifts I least expect turn out to be the most abiding
and treasured.
"Tim O'Reilly in a Nutshell" is already turning out to be one of
these. Arriving unexpectedly from O'Reilly, and with the tagline of
"Collected writings of the founder of O'Reilly Media, Inc.", I'm sure
you can forgive the dubious approach I afforded this book.
It's a gem. Sixteen pieces, arranged into three themed sections; On
Technology, On Publishing and On Business and Life. All
though-provoking, and variously emotive (The Kerry Way),
why-didn't-I-think-of-that (All Software Should be Network Aware) and
life lessons (Buy Where You Shop). Down-to-earth, readable, but damnit
there's not enough of it!
A fantastic book - but I want the Definitive Edition; In a Nutshell
just whets the appetite =)
