Set up an rsync server on one of the boxes. rsyncd servers may be 
configured quite restrictively (though it's also possible to have them 
very open, as someone many of us know demonstrated to his embarassment 
recently) and have the advantage that you don't have to use an ssh key 
with no passphrase, or leave an ssh-agent running.

The downside is that rsync without ssh as a transport simply ships its 
data in clear - if you think some three letter agency may be interested 
in your activities, this may not be a good idea.
