In the heavily-IBM-based (hardware and software) company I'm currently
working for, Domino is running on AIX and NT/2000, for a total of 6
servers. I actually _removed_ the other 4 machines running Domino on
Linux because they did nothing that couldn't be done with Postfix, but
anyway the Domino/Linux solution was so stable that I'm waiting (in
vain, I fear) for Domino to support the Linux/PPC64 platform.

Anyway, supported distributions for Domino/Linux-x86 are Redhat and Suse, but
with a bit of creativity, installation on Debian is possible. The only
caveat I see is about this part:

> opinion of it or is there anything to be aware of? Specifically we
> will be running Domino 5.0.8

5.0.8 is hellish on any platform. Go for 5.0.11 instead, and especially
avoid 5.0.8 for the clients!
