[ILUG] Brown Ubuntu and files over networks.

Hi,
Ok so I managed to get one box at work running Linux. 
Have decided to try Ubuntu. for better or worse!!!?? 
Well it went on easier than Mandrake or Suse and I can see the network easily. 
However.. Ya you say that coming..

I want to open and edit files on the win2000 server.
Just Excel and Word Files.
I can copy them locally and open them but it would be more practical
to do in on the server.

Is there a package or service I need to install ?? Or even a different OS !!!
